OF MaysLick, Kentucky
COLONEL CHARLES YOUNG
MILITARY MAN
March 12, 1864– January 8, 1922
-Graduated for Military Academy in West Point -He was the third to do so, even with the racial tension of the time -Fought in Spanish-American War -Awarded Second Lieutenant after very few missions -Served as Professor of Military Science -He was in Military Information Division as a spy -He was married with two kids -He was a musician -He spoke several languages -Died in Liberia as Military Attache
I Think Colonel Young is a great man. Not many men can accomplish something like becoming a colonel. And few of those who do faced the racial descrimination as this man. He accomplished many things and is a person anyone can look up to.
