How odd to look down on the clouds Our so called heaven But then to look up into the godless sky, brilliant and bold Seeing with the eyes of my winged brethren In my mechanical freedom I look down on the oh so limited ground A blue winding snake to me, a swimming hole to some I smile to myself as I contemplate this old wisdom I have found The urge to just jump, to free fall softly through snowy cotton Is stifled by the clear plastic and the metal buckle sitting across my hips
Who needs it? The laws of motion should just be forgotten Forget friction! I want to be free to slide and slip Never to be stopped, by gravity or any other force The taste of life on my lips, a rebel’s song in my ear Not needing to know the source Never forced to face my hideous fears Hitting the ground breaks my barrier I gasp the shock brings tears Gravity, friction, laws of motion, all come flooding in Dowsing the fire my mind so naively started I shrug as I unbuckle my seat belt and clamber out of the plane
Gravity- Ha!
