Mary Pickford
Mary Pickford, April 18th 1892- May 29th 1979. Mary was half English half Irish, but she was also born Canadian. Both her parents where actors. Mary couldnt do anything but follow in her parents footsteps. Her mother was pushing her towards stardom as she would take her to the stage to work, this is considered child labor. Marys personalty was very joyable, ineffabkly sweet, joyously young and unbearably heartbreaking in its tender pathos, she was also considered Americas Sweetheart. Her career lasted from 1908-1935. She had started acting on stage when she was only 6. Mary was writing and producing films in 1913, when mary was just 20 she appeared in 176 films, at the end of Mary's career she had a total of 236 silent movies released,. Mary became a family enterprise. The director of the screen tested her in a New York role in Nickelodeon Film callled, pippa pases.young, Mary played an innocent girl, moving unblemished through the crime-ridden neighbourhoods of Asolo. He had described her as a more intimate than the stylized stage acting of the day. Actors only earned $5 a day but after a day the director, D.W Griffith paid her $10 a day and $40 a week. she played the main characters in all her movies. After her movies she bacame a writer and director of movies as she wanted to stay in the movie buisness. She got married to Owen Moore, he was her first husband , this relationship did not work out as they were alwasy fighting. Doug Fairbanks was another one of Mary's husbands and they had both been actors,this marriage also ended. Charles ''buddy'' Rogers, was her last and final husband, they adopted 2 kids, Ronnie Charles and Roxanne. They stayed together until their deaths.
