This element plays a huge role in life on this earth. Without this element every growing/living thing on earth would become extinct. On the earth floor hydrogen is found as a compund because hydrogen is lighter than air making it go to the atmosphere. Its found it many compounds such as water, methane, coal, and petroleum. Hydrogen plays a big part in water because without it being part of the compound it would just be air. This compund plays a huge role in life because without it there would be no life at all. Hydrogen is used in many compunds that are very useful in the United States like coal. Coal has been used to make trains run or keep people warm during the harsh seasons. Overall hydrogen has greatly effected our lives.
About 7.8 tons of hydrogen is made by the U.S today. It is used for processing food, and many other things. We even have enough to make it a new fuel.
Hydrogen is a coloress and odorless gas. It is the most abundant gas and also the lightest element in the universe. It has one proton.
When turning hydrogen into a fuel they have to turn it into electricity (fuel cells) after converted from a liquid or gas state. This new alternative for fuel is only being used on just a few vehicles at this moment in life. Hopefully it becomes our main source in the future for it is eco/environment friendly.
There is only one electron being held in the valence shell of hydrogen. The element hydrogen can only make one bond with another element.
