The Nazis were the ideology and practices of the National Socialist German Workers’ Party under Adolf Hitler, and the policies adopted by the dictatorial government of Nazi Germany from 1933 to 1945
Nazi-Soviet Pact
The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) was a constitutionally socialist state that existed in Eurasia from 1922 to 1991.
Soviet, who?!
Caution: MAY CONTAIN HUMOR
Nazi, whaaat?!
Well, the Nazi-Soviet, or Molotov-Ribbentrop pact was a document stating that Germany and the Soviet Union would not attack each other, and if either were attacked by a different country they would defend each other. Basically it was an 'I got your back' situation.
Okkaay? What's this about a 'pact'?
These guys: Nazi foreign minister Joachim von Ribbentrop, Soviet leader Joseph Stalin and Soviet foreign minister Viacheslav Molotov. & Just FYI it was signed signed during early morning hours on August 24, 1939. (Kinda like late August 23, 1939 A.m hours)
Ohhhh! Soo, who signed this pact?
Got'cha! So, why should I or anyone else care?
It turns out, Stalin managed to gain territory out of the treaty, and some time. If he had not had the time provided by the pact, the Nazi Blitzkrieg may have made short work out of the Soviet Union. After Hitler invaded the U.S.S.R., Stalin met with the Allied leaders to agree to assist each other in the war until Hitler was defeated.
Wait..I thought you said that had eachothers' back?
Hmm..good question. Here's some facts: - A non-aggression pact was agreed upon between Stalin and Hitler. - They would both invade Poland and divide up the country. - Stalin signed the treaty in order to gain time to build up the Red Army
OHEMGEE! Stalin & Hitler were backstabbers!
