Do not stand at my grave and weep I am not there; I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glints on snow, I am the sun on ripened grain, I am the gentle autumn rain. When you awaken in the morning's hush I am the swift uplifting rush Of quiet birds in circling flight. I am the soft starlight at night. Do not stand at my grave and weep, I am not there; I do not sleep. Do not stand at my grave and weep, I am not there, I do not sleep. I am in a thousand winds that blow; I am the softly falling snow. I am the gentle showers of rain; I am the fields of ripening grain. I am in the morning hush, I am in the graceful rush Of beautiful birds in circling flight, I am the starshine of the night. I am in the flowers that bloom, I am in a quiet room. I am in the birds that sing, I am in each lovely thing. Do not stand at my grave and cry, I am not there. I did not die.
As they opened up the gate He knew his fate. One last ride is all it would take. Takin care of business was the bull he drew. And at the end of the ride, He already knew. A billion memories ran through his mind, Of love, Of rides, Of all the good times. He knew he’d be missed and people would cry. But his memory still remains, And to all of us, Lane will never die.
Death Kindly Stopped.
Next to the doorway he paused to stand, he removed his class ring from her hand. Those who watched could not speak as they watched the tears flow down his cheek. All through his mind sweet memories ran of their shared joys when love began. They watched in awe and awkward fear when he sighed “I love you” in her ear. With his ring on his finger he kissed her good-bye then turned away and began to cry. The door swung open to let the wind blow. They carried her casket out into the snow.
The bitterest tears shed over graves, are for words left unsaid, and deeds left undone.
A tear in the wind that sounds as soft as the sky, Will eventually reach the moon in midst of ability to fly. As the bark on the tree, tears and peels, The song the tree sings will never change the way it feels. The birds breathe in, breathe out, survive, And soaring through the sky they’ll thrive. He slipped away to finish the dance, He would have learned how, if given the chance. The drum of living has even more rhythm than the blues, Too bad my drum beat stopped, because he did not get to choose. The ink on my paper has almost dried, And forever it should stay there, even though he died. Maybe six feet isn’t all that deep, Death starts talk, and talk is cheap. It’s just the beginning, of the new end. You’ll be remembered as nothing more, than another tear in the wind.
A million words would not bring you back, I know because I’ve tried. Neither would a million tears, I know because I’ve cried.
When you run so fast to get somewhere you miss half the fun of getting there. When you worry and hurry through your day, it is like an unopened gift....thrown away. Life is not a race. Do take it slower. Hear the music, before the song is over.
It takes a couple seconds to say Hello, but forever to say Goodbye.
