“ The Life of a Rodeo Cowboy” The life of a Rodeo Cowboy is like no other, He lives day to day not knowing if he’ll be able to see another. He chases the lines on that ol’ Highway from sun up, to sun down, headin from town to town. He longs for the time he spends in the arena, and yearns for the dollars he could earn doin what he loves. Some wedge their hands in a riggin, others tie calves with their piggin. I for one chose to ride the wild horses in a saddle, each one poses a different battle. But each cowboy does his own, we are all different here, but were tryin to make it big, and livin with no fear! You see this Life we live aint for the Faint of Heart, it’s a hard dangerous sport, and has been known to pull a few families apart. Livin this Life is a gamble and for some its just to much to handle. A lot of crazy things can happen when you nod your head and you cant be afraid of what lies ahead. I’ve seen a lot of good men fall and just a few weeks back my good friend Trevor almost got the call, but its all a part of the game we play, its Rodeo from day to day. Sometimes your riding at the top of your game and it’ll feel like your headed straight for fame but we will all hit a bump, and it takes a true cowboy to ride up and out of a slump. Every day it’s a constant battle, and with each time I get in the saddle I know this could be my last ride, but I have no worries, I’ve got the Lord on my side. That’s a chance we take with every ride we make, but that’s a Sacrifice I’m willing to pay, and when the good Lord comes to say “it’s your time”, I’ll gladly takes his Hand and follow him up those Stairs to the Promise Land. For we all know it’s a better place, and one day we will all get to be there and meet our Maker face to face. Until then we will chase the rodeo trail, livin life and tellin our buddies another tall tale. For We Live the Life of a Rodeo Cowboy, its Every little Boys Dream and if your not one of us, it’s something you’ll never understand or So it Seems. Keith Ketcher 2010’
