It's Saturday night, were headed to the G money rodeo and were runnin late as we always do. Once we get to the pen, I get my gear and head in, I meet up with Blane and Andy back behind the chutes, Blane's rosinin up his riggin and Andy's puttin on his leggins. I drop my gear and head over to pay my dues and soon there after I get the blues... Because of what I saw, I got Ol' 154 the one i didn't wanna draw! As i stood there in disbelief, Blane soon came to my relief, he said its just another horse at another show, don’t let you head droop too low, you will get him this time around, your not gonna quit til your head hits the ground. He bucked you down once but not again for this time you'll get him rode and win. The bareback riding came and went and the calf roping is coming to an end. Here come the broncs snortin and a blowin as we shut the slidin gates. Right there in chute 3 was my draw, it was Ol' yeller and dam is he tall. Me and Andy get my bronc saddle cinched down and my buck rein on tight, now it’s time for me to get my head right because I gotta make that 8 second ride tonight! Blane was one before me, he drew a little bay, she shore did buck like she was a stray. He called for the gate, hoping to make that eight, bay came out jukin and jivin and sent Ol' blane down for a pile drivin! It was now my time to get in the saddle and fight my own battle. I slide down into my swells, put my feet in the stirrups, cinch my hat down tight, grab a handful of rein and get ready for a fight! I called for the gate not knowing my fate. He lumbered out there and started kickin up at the sky, all I could think of was to let the iron fly, but I was in no shape to do so , ol' yeller had me all bent outta shape, I just kept husslin tryn to get back to the front, he was jumpin 8 feet high and kickin, oh how close I was to takin a lickin. But I just kept on tryn wantin to make a hand, I never thought it woulda turned out so grand. The whistle blew and the crowd jumped up in the stands.. Oh that feeling you get when your a bronc ridin man. I picked up $180 and second place, that will go towards my points in the finals race... but that rodeo has came and gone and its time to keep movin on, so until next time we'll see you round, on down that highway chasin the next go around!
