Many people don't realize that the banshee ( or ''bean sidhe'' ) was actually a fairy.
In Celtic legend, the banshee would attach herself to a family. Her keening wails foretold the death of a member of ''her'' family.
She appeared as either a beautiful young woman or an ugly old crone. In neither form was the banshee known to attack.
Banshees
Today's banshees are much more fearsome. The cries of a modern banshee don't just foretell death-- they cause it!
The contemporary banshee has fallen far. Once a harmless gaurdian, she is now a full-fledged monster.
The banshee has also inspired a handful of modern heroes-- such as X-Men's ''The Banshee.''

Needs more.. A bit "naked" ... I'll check back in closer to midnight to see how things are going with Glogster.
