THE GODS. Are they still worshiped the same way now as they were back then???
In the book, The Odyssey, the gods are prayed to and worshiped for many diferent reasons. Are they still prayed to as they were back then, or have the reasons changed since then? Have some gods been ignored and just used in myths?

Poseidon was the God of the oceans, water, and could controll strom lightning. He may have been prayed to if people sailing wanted a safe voyage. They would pray to him for calm waters.
Ares, the god of war, was often prayed to before a war or battle. He would chose a side and usually help that side demolish the enimes. of course, for this, he demanded worship and maybe a sacrifice!
Athena, was the god of wisdom. She is best know for her owl of wisdom. Many would pray to her seeking knowledge on how to do or fix something. In the book, she even tells Telemachos what to do when he does not know what to do.
Poseidon is still prayed to evey once and a while. Many sailors belive that the more they pray, the better catch they will recieve. They always want a safe voyage.
Today, Athena isn't really worshiped and prayed to as much. Some people may still pray to her, but many just pray to GOD. I believe that we should not give up on the greek gods.
Ares is one of the gods that has really just been given up on. While Ares was one of the most prayed to gods, We don't really pray to him anymore.
