Boreal Owl
Fun Facts The Boreal Owl was first classified in 1758 by Carolus Linnaeus. Other names for the owl are Richardson Owl, Sparrow Owl, Partridge-haw Owl, Pearl Owl, and Tengmalms Owl. The owl was named after Boreas the greek god of the wind. Their territorial call and song is known as "poop." It has soundless flight because the air doesn't go through the little spaces in the feathers. Six sounds it makes are oohwack, evihd, kraihk, kwahk, zjuck, and whoohd. The owl is also nocternal which means it does everything at night.
PRESERVATION the boreal owl depends on minimizing pollution in their nesting sites, feeding sites, and habitat.
