The best thing about being little was drinking from the hose And laughing out loud with watermelon on our nose. Never needing to matchm because we always looked precious Playing with our toys, never cleaning up our messes Building in the dirt of the yard next door When all the blue popsicles were gone, out hearts were tore Riding our bike s, and swinging at the school We could stay up on New Years because we weren't that cool Clueless to embaressment, word we didnt know yet Crying when we finaly had to let blanky go Saturday mornings with milk spilt on the floor While mom laugh out loud standing at her door. Trying to fix out hair, an hour before the dance Gawking at the cute kid, we didn't stand a chance Our moms kissed our heads when we left to sleepover We spent summers in feilds looking for four leaf clovers Finaly getting the privilage to push the grocery cart Crying to our pillow over the first boy who breaks our heart learning how to love, learning how to let go Best friend fights, helping us to grow Yelling at out mom when she says 'change your clothes' Friends forever, we learn , is a concept that goes Learning the rules of the life, the very hard way Hoping you'll find serenity in this world one day. Going through high school, trying to fit in leaving the drama behind, with a new life to begin Things are looking bright, were moving on with time but living on our own, were spending dollars and making dimes we find that one guy, that happens to steal your heart you fall in love, and talk about family your ready to start PTO on Monday, your ten minutes late The life you always imagined, didn't turn out so great Bills to be paid, as the baby screams You lay down at night and wonder if it's all it seems Your children grow up, and stumble where you walked
