In 1972, Atari released its first arcade game
The original Atari Inc. was founded by Nolan Bushnell and Ted Dabney in 1972, the same year Pong was released. It was "a pioneer in arcade games, video game consoles, and computers." It was a giant step for technology and much has developed and improved since the 1970's.
Before the name Atari, the company's name was syzygy until Bushnell found out that there was a roofing company with the same name.
In 1974, Gran Trak is released. This was the first car-racing game controlled by a steering wheel attached to a cabinet.
Atari releases Tank in 1974. This was the first game to use ROM chips to store graphics data.
