I stand in the center aisle of the auditorium, a wouunded zebra in a National Geographic special, looking for some one, anyone, to sit next to. Speak pg.5
Melinda Sordino is person who has lost all of her friends. Already on the second page she has declared herself outcast. Okay so maybe right now Melinda is an outcast, like a wounded zebra or a new girl in school, but all of that could change with alittle effort. She may even be able to make friends with other ''wounded zebras'' such as Heather from Ohio.
''Another wounded zebra turns and smiles at me. She's packing at least five grand worth of orthodontia, but has great shoes. ''I'm Heather from Ohio,'' she says. ''I'm new here. Are you?'' Speak pg.5
I used to have friends, a clan. Now I am outcast. I have no friends, everyone hates me, I am a wounded zebra. In my old clan, the Plain Janes, there was Nicole, Ivy, Jessica, and Rachel. Of all of those Rachel was my best and closest friend. wWe understood each other inside and out. The thing that everyone is mad at me about, well they don't feally know all of the facts. I haven't really told anybody the truth yet cause of all the people in this world i would like to tell it to Rachel but she is nolonger my friend. Now, in the auditoriumI have sat next to some girl i don't know. Right before the lights are turned off she says that her name is Heather and she is from Ohio and wonders if I too are new here. Well that hit like a rock because I am not new but I might as well be. But at least she is nice, a potential buddy. P.S. Most things they say in high school are lies.
