1. The telescope was created by Hans Lippershey arround 1608 that appeared in the Netherlands. 2.In 1611, Johannes Kepler described how a telescope could be made with a convex objective and eyepiece lens 3. Isaac Newton was credited on makeing the first practical reflector in 1668 4. The achromatic lens, which reduced color aberrations in objective lenses and allowed for shorter and more functional telescopes appeared in a 1733 telescope made by Chester Moore Hall 5.The first radio telescope was made by Grote Reber in 1937
How do Telescope's work???
Optical telescope: The Optial telescope is used to gather and focus light mainly from the visible part of the electromagnetic spectrum. There are a total of three primary types of optical telescope: Refractors (Dioptrics), Reflectors (Catoptrics), and Combined Lens-Mirror Systems (Catadioptrics). Radio telescope: The Radio telescope is a form of directional radio antenna used in radio astronomy, the same types of antennas are used in tracking and collecting data from satellites and space probes. In astronomical role it differs from optical telescopes in that they operate in the radio frequency portion of the electromagnetic spectrum where they can detect and collect data on radio sources. Radio telescopes are usally large parabolic ("dish") antennas. Radio observatories are preferentially located far from major centers of population in order to avoid electromagnetic interference (EMI) from radio, TV, radar, and other EMI emitting devices. High energy particle telescopes: High-energy astronomy requires specialized telescopes to make observations since most of these particles go through most of the metals and glasses. X-ray telescopes use Wolter telescopes. Gamma-ray telescopes refrain from focusing completely and use coded aperture masks
Inportant Discoveries made by the Telescope
1.Johannes Kepler first explained the theory and some of the practical advantages of a telescope constructed of two convex lenses in his Catoptrics (1611). 2. Galileo arranged both a convex lens, which is curved outward, and a concave lens, which is curved inward, inside a tube. 3. The achromatic lenses led to a boom in the construction of large refracting telescopes in the late 19th century. In 1897 4.
