Wave Behavior
-When a wave bounces off an obsticle in it's path. - There are 2 types of reflection 1.) Specular reflection occurs when a smooth object reflects waves. 2.) Diffuse reflection occurs when a rough object reflects waves.
"All waves follow the laws of physics no matter what type" ("Wave Behavior").They have certain behaviors including, reflection, refraction, diffraction, interference, absorption, and scattering. These wave behaviors are the explainations for why mirrors reflect your image, why you can hear people in other rooms talking and why glass becomes hot afteer sitting in the sun. Physics is happening all around us and waves surround us especially due to the advanced technology that we use daily. For instance, radios, TV, and the internet.
-Waves experience a change in speed upon encoutering a new medium. - The change in speed causes a change in direction. -When speed decreases the wave length decreases. When speed increases the wave length increases.
-Waves don't travel in straight lines. - When they encounter a gap the waves bend and curve around the object.
- There are 2 types: 1.) Constructive Interference -two wave crests are added togther. 2.) Destructive Interference - a wave crest and a wave trough meet and cancel each other out.

Reflection
Refraction
Diffraction
Interference
- Wave meets a medium that is capable of absorption. - The energy from the wave is transfered to medium. - Exta KE is turned into heat.
- When a photon is absorbed and then re-emited instantly. -"How the light is scattered is dependent on the frequency of the light and the size of the particle it is scattering from" ("Wave Behavior")
Absorbtion
Scattering
The window in the picture is able to reflect and absorb light light. The sunflower absorbs waves, but reflects yellow light waves.
