Brittany’s capital city really gets in party mood at the beginning of each July with its Tombes de la Nuit, a spectacular street festival celebrating theatre, music, poetry and dance. Perhaps surprisingly, all things traditionally Breton share the limelight with some of France’s best modern rock music. Although maybe not so surprising when you realize that Rennes’ two universities and medical school is home to around 45,000 students.
Bretagne, France
Bretagne France doesn’t have many statues but it is a beautiful place. With 1025 listed monuments, and 1847 registered as “historical monuments”(source DRAC Bretagne), Brittany is one of France's first regions as regards the wealth and density of its heritage. Lighthouses, manors, churches, houses, enclosers, chapels: the monuments under protection are extremely varied and characteristic.
