The Queen of England used to rule over Canada, but now we have a Prime Minister and not a Queen.
Don MacLean is the mayor of Pitt Meadows. It is his job to make sure that everything runs smoothly in the municipality.
These are the people who live in Pitt Meadows who have to listen to the rules of the leaders.
Stephen Harper is the Prime Minister of Canada. The Prime Minister is the head of government in Canada.
Gordon Campbell is the Premier of B.C. The Premier's job is to have control of the province like the Prime Minister has over Canada.
Canadian Government
The Federal government is responsible for making laws for the peace, order and good government of Canada.
The Municipal government is responsible for providing many of the services that are within their local boundaries.
The Provincial government is responsible for issues that are explicitly given to them in Canada's written constitution from 1867.
