When matter has tightly packed atoms and retains volume, and shape
Gas-Atoms are widely spaced.....has no definate shape or volume.
Liquid--The Atoms are alittle more spaced out and retain volume but has no definate shape
Freezing must occur for a liquid to change to a solid
Melting must occur for a solid to become a liquid
in order for a liquid to become a gas evaporation must occor.
condensation must occur for a gas to become a liquid
sublimation occurs when a solid changes to a gas.
