Victims of sexual assault and rape tend to try and forget the whole incident and put it behind them.
The best thing to do after a sexual assault is to not change the enviroment around you, because it can be used as evidence against the offender.
If you have been raped or assaulted, there are several things you should do: 1. Make sure you are away from harm. 2.Call for help.
3. Don't change anything about your body or youe enviroment. Don't shower or go to the bathroom. Don't change your clothes or wash or comb your hair. Don't clean up the place where you are. There might be evidence that can be collected by the police or at a hospital. You can cover yourself with a blanket to feel more comfortable. 4. Ask someone to take you to the hospital. 5. Seek therapy or counseling. Remember abusers want to make the victim feel ashamed and humiliated. Counselors can help reasure victims they are not to blame for the assault.
