HOW A BILL BECOMES A LAW
STEP#6: Voting The bill is passed after a long debate and an approval. STEP# 4 Rederral to Other Chamber When the house passes a bill, it is referred to the other chamber. Step 8: Conference committe Action When the actions of the other chambers alter the bill another confernce comittee is formed to compare the house and the senate versions. STEP # 9: Final Action Once both Hosue and Senate has agreed on the bill, it is sent to the president. STEP#10: Orderring a veto This give the president to veto the bill if needed, but the congress can over write his veto.
STEP#1: A bill is born Any one can draft a bill but only congress can introduce it. STEP#2: Committee Action When the bill is introduced it is referred to a committe. Then it is edited for any changes. STEP#3: Subcommitte Review Sometimes the bill is referred to a subcommittee for the study and hearing, and this provides the views of the executive branch and oppents of the legislation. STEP#4: Mark up When the hearing are completed and they can make changes and amendments prior to the recommeding the bill to the whole committe. STEP#5: Ordering The bill report After receiving a subcommittee's report on a bill the full committee votes on its recommendation to the house.
