A lot of things can happen in the war, but alot of things some people don't pay attention to is in the HOME FRONT. 1. William McAdoo declared that '' Every person who refuses to subscribe......is a friend of Germany, and is not entitled to bed an American citizen.'' 2. The Food Adminatration and Fuel Adminatraions were charged with the suppling and production of food and fuel. Herbert Hoover was the manager for that. 3. William set limits on transportation rates and workers' wages. 4. Benard Branch was responsible for allocating sare materials, establishing production priorities, and setting prices. 5. The thought that the government intervention would permanently damage the U.S, system of free enterprise.
6. people paid millions to employees and volunteers to campaign for the military. 7. American industries were short of labor by suit up time, because there were so many men drafted in the army. 8. The workers who went on strike, demanded that they have higher wadges and other benifits. 9. In 1917 there was about 4,500 strikes going on. 10. The labor shorage strengthened unions and brought changes in the work force. 11. The women planned wartime mobilization. 12. Carrie Chapman Catt was a suffrage leader who was apart of the Women's Committee of the Council of National Defense.
