Dr. Shoemaker's Vital Stats: Born in Los Angeles, CA. April 28, 1928 Died in a car accident July, 1997 Buried July 1, 1999 on the moon, (To date, he is the only person to have been buried on the Moon).
Discoveries: Discovered countless comets and meteors. Discovered the first comet that impacted with a planet: Shoemaker-Levy 9. It collided with Jupiter in 7 pieces and created impact sites the size of Earth!
