Sumer: They developed writing called cuneiform. They were also the first to write anything down. Because of them we know more about ancient civilizations from the records they kept.
MESOPOTAMIA
Babylonia: Their astronomy became the basis for Greek astronomy. Greek's astronomy carried on through other civilizations and created what we now have today.
Hittites: they forged and traded iron and were the first to ever use it in battle. As in the iron chariots.
