Go GREEN and save GREEN ~Re-route your commute *walk or bike to your destination *if you live far try telecomuting or move closer *if you are not allowed to walk or ride bike on your streets, talk to municipal gonveremnt about sidewalks ~Buy used *buy used furniture for your new place if you are moving *use creativity in gift giving=-home made gifts, charity, and re-gifting (gift green in general) ~Buy local *shop at your local farmers market, though more expensive it is more meaningful *start a local currency in your to town to ensure the money stays in the local economy ~compost your food scraps *composting helps save money ~change the thermostat settings *higher in the summer and lower in the winter can save evergy and money
~skip the bottled water at the grocery or convience store *filter your tap water for drinking and refil the same water bottle every time you need it ~make your own cleaning supplies *baking soda, soap and vinager is non toxic and it really works! ~think twice about new electronics *e-waste from electronics like cell phones is a growing enviromental problem. ~add one meatless meal per week *doing this saves energy for the meat producting and money for everyone ~use your local library and other local places like that *barowing books and movies instead of buying saves printing supplies which saves money.
