Ohio May 2008 Employment: Hourly mean wage: 8530 $13.40
26 year old Jason Phillips and a colleague was taking a gas sample at a gas production plant when a gas rupture caused the filter blowing at high pressure sending a piece of apparatus directly into Jason’s upper leg at high speeds. He sustained a compound fracture to his right leg splintering the bone in two. An on-site paramedic was called and administered pain relief and was taken to the hospital by ambulance. Doctors decided that he needed to be taken to Toowoomba hospital but the ride was going to be too painful, so they called RACQ CareFlight Rescue to get him to the hospital as quickly as they could so Jason could under go his recovery.

Being a CareFlight EMT is about saving people. My job is to provide emergency medical service to people who are in danger whether it be during a fire, an accident, or any emergency where an ambulance isn’t quick enough. You are able to rescue people in need in places where and ambulance can’t go for example, on a mountain where people have crashed and ambulance EMT can’t get to them. It is a CareFlight EMT’s job to rescue those people, take care of them and take them to the nearest hospital. In conclusion, my job as a CareFlight EMT is to save and rescue people in need and be there guardian angel.
