Slavery In The United States (1860)
The Westward Expansion happened due to farmers in the east not needed so many slaves because tabacoo isn't worth as much anymore. Farmers in the west needed more slaves because they were expanding and buying more land in the west becuase of the cotton gin.
The Industrial Revolution created more technology. This was the start for many new families and a new way to make money. This also started many problems in America.
Slavery got bigger due to Industrial Revolution. During the Industrial Revolution as the land got bigger and more farms were being made farmers needed more slaves to do all the jobs on the farm, such as, the cotton gin, growing crops, cutting crops, and so on.
Jacksonian Democracy
Slaves felt as if they were being shackled to a new life , in a new place and without their families.
The picture to the right is a picture of slaves with their families before the westward expansion and before the farmers split the families up.
To the left is a picture of the cotton gin being ran by slaves.
The picture above is of cotten in a feild that goes in the cotton gin.
The Industrial Revolution started new inventions such as the telephone.
Shackles stand for the feelings of the slaves and that they couldn't state how they felt, they felt shackled up.
