There were many emerging actors and actrsess at this time. some of them were, Charlie Chaplin, who released his first film, ''The Kid'', Rudolph Valentino in ''The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse'', Pola Negri in ''Bella Donna''.

United Artists Corporation was formed by Charles Chaplin, D.W. Griffith Douglas Fairbanks and Mary Pickford, who at this time were major movie stars.

In the 20's movies really became big. First there were silent movies, they were watched with an organ or piano.

The Capital Theater in New York City was the biggest theater in the world in 1921. Across the sea in the U.K. the first theater to come up was called Odeon cinema, and it was put up by Oscar Deutsch.

The First Theaters were called Nickelodeons. They were the very basic of what you needed to watch the movie.

Many attempts were made to add audio to film, but all failed. It wasn't till 1923 that the first film had a synchronised sound track that was photographically printed on the side of the motion picture film.

In The 20's, movies were just coming out of the silent era, but even when sound was used later, there bar for vulgar language was raised. The first movie to give a realitsic representation was a war movie called "What Price Glory?"
