Chevrolet
Throughout Chevrolets history, the Camaro has remained one of the most iconic muscle cars in American car history. Its popularity can even be drawn to the silver screen, like in the movie Transformers. A yellow Camaro plays the role of Bumblebee. One of these cars could be purchased for under $6,000 back in the 1970's. This is not to bad for a vehicle that just tried to copy the Ford Mustang
The Corvette Stomgray has proven to be one of America's favorite muscle cars. This may be why it has earned the title of America's muscle car. One of these Corvettes would run for about $7,000 back in 1973. On average they got around 11 - 14 miles to the gallon. Its 4 speed transmission could push out speeds of about 120 miles per hour.
The Chevy Chevelle remains a legend with muscle car fanatics. This may be because of the sleek lines in the car, or just the overall appearance and performance of the vehicle. Alli in all the Chevy Chevelle, although discontinued, is an icon when it comes to Chevy muscle cars.
The price of gas has really increased over the years. Back in 1970, one gallon of gas would cost you only $0.35. It rasied to about $0.53 in 1975. Still not to bad for one gallon of gas. One could usually fill their tank up for under $15.00 in 1970.
Chevrolet was no push over when it came to a wide variety of vehicles. During the decade of the 70's, they had a total of 13 totally different models of vehicle. They included, Vega, Monza, Chevette, Nova, Chevelle, and the Malibu. Others were the Monte Carlo, Brookwood, Bel Air, Impala, Camaro, Corvette, and the Caprice.
The Chevy Chevette was often used as a rally car, a race car that raced on a dirt track. Theire low weight added with a moderate horse power made them an ideal vehicle to take on a dirt track.
