Unlike the other immigration groups most Africans did not want to come here. There was a point in time where some would venture here but not everyone had the same feelings. It was in the 16th century that some Africans did want to be here but after about 50 years the Africans who lived in the free colony Jamestown were forced into slavery
My Family
Of course once people noticed that their people were being forced into slavery they didn’t want to be here. So instead they were forced to enter the states to work.
African Immigration
Because of African Immigration, my great- grandmother's great- grandmother was in slavery. She is one of the few that my uncle was able to find information about. During the year Andrew Jackson was president he supposedly had sexual intercourse with one of his slaves which started the line of mixed kids in my family.
