Halt!
When on public transportation they have to stop at some point right? But the annoying part is when you are thrown in your seat. This is because of the force that interferes with the automobile. When riding in a vehicle and it comes to a stop a force hits the vehicle in the front and this sends the vehicle to stop moving. Friction applies force to the back of the vehilce and that is why you are not sent flying backwards. Incase you are a visual learner this is all located to the right. It is called a Force Diagram.
Did you notice that in the force diagram the arrows are the same size? Well that is because the same amount of force is being applied in each direction. Which is bringing the vehicle to a complete stop.
Fun Fact: Why is my body flung if it is an even stop? The answer is Inertia. When the vehicle is moving at a certain speed so are you. When it stops your body keeps on moving. That is why you are flung to the front.
Are you ever on public transportation, and the vehicle comes to a complete stop? Don't you hate the way your body is flung front or back? Want to know why?
