Once upon a time there was a king in a far away land. He had a young bride whom he loved dearly, with a love that no one has ever felt for another human being. Unfortunately his bride did not have the same kind of love for him. She did love him, but she also loved others. She did not try to hide that she had other lovers, but at times flaunted them in front of her husband. The king was grieved, angered and jealous, yet he still loved his bride more than anything. He tried reminding her of the covenant they made when they were married, and the things they had promised each other that she seemed to have forgotten. He showed her how much he loved her in every little thing that he did for her, but nothing changed. Finally the king told her “I love you. I would give up my life for you if I thought that it would make you happy. I have tried, and tried, but I cannot get you to realize the depth of pain, sorrow and anger. My love for you is deeper then you can imagine, but your love for me is here one moment and gone the next. I love you and will always be here for you even if you continue in your ways. I will forgive you a thousand times over, and more if necessary. But I hope and pray that you will choose to love me, and only me.” At these words his bride began to cry. She felt saddened, guilty and ashamed for what she had done to him. The moment she started crying the king wrapped his arms around her and whispered “I forgive you,” over, and over. In that moment she vowed again to be faithful to him and him alone. But her promise was broken a second time. She had found another lover. This time her new lover persuaded her to run away with him and away from her husband. When the king found that she was missing his heart broke and he was angry. But despite his anger he looked for her. He looked for seven long years until he finally found her. But he was too late. She had forgotten him and everything he had done for her. To her he was just and old lover she didn’t remember. He left a more broken man then when he started his search, knowing that he would never have his bride again.
