What is a cumulonimbus? A cumulonimbus is a type of cloud that include thunderstorms and severe weather. A cumulonimbus is created when the air is not stable and strong current brings warm air and humidity into altitude.

When the air rises, it gets colder and condense itself into small fragments of ice, hailstones or small droplet of rain. Because of this change from gas to solid or to liquid, particles that have the less mass rise to the top of the cumulonimbus and the particles with bigger mass stay at the bottom.

Particles that have less mass are positive. The heavier particles are negative . When the cloud moves, friction is created between the negative and positive particle amd energy is created.The accumulation of energy created by the friction of negative ions and positive ions cause an increase of energy in the cloud and the when the energy is release...
