A former third grade teacher, I joined the ECU Reading Education Faculty in 2006. I love teaching and reading and can get pretty ridiculously enthusiastic about both. I study reading comprehension, motivation, and digital literacies with grades 3-8 students.
Teaching is not simply the ability to create a fantastic lesson plan for one day; rather it is the ability to weave various experiences together to form a tapestry that provides the opportunities for children to immerse themselves in quality literature and develop as sophisticated readers.
