Food: One of the Pillars of Islam is the fast during the month of Ramadan. During Ramadan Muslims don't eat or drink from sunrise to sunset. There are some Muslims who are not required to fast and they are the pregnant women, nursing mothers, travelers, young children and others. There are 2 important feast days for Muslims. and they are called Eid Al-Fitr and Eid Al-Adha. Eid Al-Adha is a four day celebration when Muslims from all over the world offer a sacrifice by slaughtering a sheep, cow, or goat. Eid Al-Adha remembers Abraham's sacrifice to his son Ishmael in the name of God. But God sent him a ram, sparing his son's life. Sacrificing an animal, most likely a sheep, represents a promise to do good on earth. The meat is shared with neighbors and sent to the poor. The birthday of the Prophet Muhammad is usually celebrated with a feast. Weddings are traditionally celebrated with a great feast. They say to eat with your right hand because, it is proper and if you don't then it may bring bad luck on you.
Clothing: Some people may think Muslim people are out-dated when it comes to clothing. Muslims think that dressing good is pointless. Many Muslims buy their clothing while travelling or sew their own. and dress in conservative earth-tone colors such as green, blue, gray, as well as the usual black and white. There were political and social issues on the specific styles that Muslim women sometimes wear there clothes. after these issues they made it were women have to wear the clothes in different styles in certain locations or places.

Religious Beliefs: There is only 1 god and his name is called Allah. Islam teaches that there is good and evil and that each indivdual is responsible for the actions of his or her life. The 5 pillars are 5 duties you have to do to be Muslim. The 5 are Faith, Prayer, Alms, Fasting, and Pilgrimage. There holy book is called the Qur'an. The Qur'an is written in Arabic and Muslims consider that to be the true word of Allah. There mission was to apply the Qur'an to modern day life.
Education: Today around the world, Muslims have the lowest literacy rate. In the Muslim World the purpose of education is to make money to live in there life. Most of the Muslims think that Islamic education means to learn Islamic religion. The not so smart muslims were sent to religious schools. The smart Muslims went to school on the weekends. The point of Islamic education is Character building. The study of the Qur'an can build there knowledge, character, and making smart decisions. Parents play a big role in the education of their children. Early childhood education program could help young Muslims. Parents should develop a habit to read with their children every night.
