-In Rome there we numerous crimes: During the Pax Romana there were 32,000 prostitutes in Rome. Today you see crimes on the news daily, there is still prostitution today. -There were many public health and environmental problems in Rome. The poor people who lived on the streets had alcohol problems. In large cities today, there are many poor people. They are a nuisance and also may have drinking problems. -In Rome the farmers had trouble paying people to work on their farms, so those people had to work in the city. They had a lot of trouble with unemployed people in Rome. Today, we are starting to have the same problem. People keep getting laid off .
-The Greek architecture is pretty similar to today. The Senate building design is based of Greek architecture. Along with the arch's. -The Olympics started in Athens, and we still compete in the Olympics to this day. -Greeks made numerous contributions to mathematics today. They created analysis, calculus, applied math and many different things. We use these subjects everyday aswell.

-Greece strongly influences the Roman culture -The Romans tried to limit the influence of Greek thought in the early days of the Empire -By 324 BC, when Rome was still struggling with friction between the patricians and the plebeians, the entire world east of Rome was under the control of Alexander the Great. -By the end of the fourth century there were 3 empires that controlled everything east of Rome. -Rome had almost been destroyed by Carthage during the Second Punic War. -100 years after the death of Alexander the Great and the Hellenistic empires entered a new era of expansion. -Philip V began seizing territories in the Aegean Sea and Asia Minor. -Philip and Antiochus began contemplating the conquest of Egypt; so they decided to split the territory among themselves. -They had fought against Philip during the Second Punic War and demanded that he cease seizing Greek territory. -When Philip V died in 179 BC, he was succeeded by Perseus, who then roused up democratic and revolutionary passions in Greece. -Rome invaded Greece again, in the Third Macedonian War the results were dramatically different.

DARK AND MIDDLE AGES
The downfall of Rome and Greece led to a bad Dark and Middle Ages. When they fell, it was not very peaceful. People started to get very lazy and no one thought hard at all. A lot of people started getting sick and dying because there were no cures or medicines for illnesses. All they did was fight all of the time. They did stay isolated, but they were still too stubborn to do anything. Religion was the main focus of the Dark and Middle Ages. They did not focus on math, sciences, art, and literature like the Romans did. The people during this time could have easily learned from Greece and Rome's mistakes but they were just too stubborn.
