BLACK DEATH
Economic Effects: People that had skills in certain areas died, so there was not many people to make things and not many to sell things. People that were once peasants demanded higher wages for their work because they were the only ones left to do it. There weren't as many people to help with law enforcement, so murders and rapes were happening more and more frequently. Some say the economy was hit hardest of all.
Political effects: The time of the black death was the end of Feudal society. Europe got a new King to lead them and many of the noblemen died.
Religious Effects: The Catholic Church lost leadership over its people. The church promised cures to the people and said it was Gods will but they couldn't cure it. Christians fled and when the plague was done, the villagers revolted.
In the 1300s, 1/3 of Europes population died from the black plague or black death. People became infected with the plague from the fleas on rats. When you get infected with the black plague, you have about 1-6 days left until you die depending on which type of the plague you have. There are 3 types of the plague: the bubonic plague, septicemia, and the pneumonic plague. The bubonic plague effects the lymph glands. When you have the bubonic plague, your lymphnodes swell and cause buboes which are painful lumps. Symtoms of the bubonic plague are fever, headache, chills, and extreme fatigue. Death is between four and six days. Septicemia is a really bad infection in your blood stream. Symtoms are fever, chills, fatigue, abdominal pain, shock, and bleeding through the skin and other organs. It's the most painful and quick death of all the types of plague. Death is usually within a day. Pneumonic plague effects your lungs. Some symtoms include high fever, difficulty breathing, chills, cough, and spitting blood. The plague is still around today and it's still fatal if its not treated right away.
