How Soccer Affects Korea????????!
In Korea, soccer isn’t just a sports, it is a sports that unites people into one. This is because the citizen of Korea gathers and supports the Korean team. The time when the most people gathered was during the World Cup. In Korea, people gathered in a square where they cheered for the Korean team both in 2002 and 2006. Basically, people would gather on the streets or a square and cheer our team while watching the games through the screen that is displayed. In 2006 July 13th, the game between Korea and Togo, the citizens gathered around the screen and the number was approximately 12 thousand. They were all dressed in red clothes mostly the Korean cheering clothes, and had a red horn on their heads representing the Korean team, the Red Devils. This shows how a simple sport, soccer, can unite one country’s citizens into one.
To some people soccer is just a fun sport, but sometimes it could be a way of marketing. Soccer had a huge impact on the Korean economy. One of the times that had a most effect was the World Cup. While the world cup, the game between Swiss and Korea, approximately 115 thousands of Red Devil shirts were sold, making a profit of 229,765.01 US dollars. Moreover, because of the significant result of the Korean team in 2002 World Cup, the foreign people who wanted to learn more about Korea made a great development in the Korean Economy.
Soccer affects the community in lot of ways, but to individual, they would receive hope. This could sound weird, but then the fact that there are Korean players in other great teams could give hope to the kids and the people in Korea. An example could be Ji Sung Park; he is currently in Manchester United, the fact that a player from a small country gives hope to the citizens in that country. Moreover, to the people who aren’t as fortunate could watch these players from their country and see how they could succeed even though they are in a small country and also that there are still possibilities for them in the future.
