Volvox
Volvox consists of anything from 500 to many thousands of cells all linked together and can sometimes reach 0.5mm in diameter so they can easily be seen with the naked eye.All these cells seem to work towards a common purpose moving the cell around the water finding the right place for maximum absorption of sunlight energy. The cells have eyespots which enable the colony to swim towards light. Those species reproduce asexualy and sexualy. Volvox is a freshwater algae.
Kingdom: Viridiplantae Phylum: Chlorophyta Class: Chlorophyceae Order: Volvocales Family: Volvocaceae Genus: Volvox
