“Sometimes it’s like, you don’t even try” That’s pounded in my head with every day gone by If only you knew how much I’ve fought to stay So many close calls before I reached today “We can’t move forward if you don’t talk” Would you ask a child to run before it can walk? Teach me how to speak again I’ve kept quiet so long; I think I’ve forgotten “If you lost your temper, what would you say?” Get out of my head and go away! I’m no good at only just coping when, I know tomorrow I’ll just fall again Don’t tell me I don’t fight, I don’t stand and try Don’t you dare tell me this is another goodbye If you saw the emotions which inside I make stay You’d want them to remain locked away
It was just the one I mustn’t do Find myself attached to you Our time is limited, relationship frail Yet, once again, at this task I fail I know little details about who you are From your favourite colour to your type or car I’ve pieced together things you said And formed a hero in my head I do this to myself time and time again Looking up to you, making you my friend It was that one thing I said I couldn’t do But still I’ve attached myself to you.
