Michelangelo was born march sixth, 1475 in Cprese, Italy in Flourentine territory. Michelangelo was an Italian sculptor, architect, painter and poet during the Renaissance. Some of his greatest works are the biblical hero David (Florence, 1501 and 1504) and the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel in Rome (1508 -1512..) After 1519 Michelangelo was becoming more involved in architecture. After his death.the dome of Saint Peter's Basillica was completed, which he had designed. Michaelangelo died on February 18, 1564. His works are so important to the spirit of the Renaissance because they helped add culture to Rome and many of his works are still around today.
