A refractor telescope uses glass lens as it's objective. The glass lens is at the front of the telescope and light is bent (refracted) as it passes through this lens. The refractor telescope uses a lens to gather and focus light the first telescope bulit were refectors.
There are two different types of telescopes
- Refeactors and Reflecters
A reflector telescope uses a mirror as it's objective. The mirror is close to the rear of the telescope and light is bounced off (refracted) as it strikes the mirror. Reflector telescopes do not suffer from chromatic oberration because all wavelength will reflect off the mirror the same way
