When I walk through a field of poppies, I remember the Soldiers who fought for us. The poppies sway in a gorgeous way. Even though we don’t know your names, we still celebrate your special day. You never really left us You live on in the poppies. They show your beautiful souls. We will really never know what you went through or your family’s pain. The one thing that we do know is that your legend will live on. The war has changed us You made us want to close our eyes….. But you can still see that the madness has to stop. The war is taking you So pass on your courage and bravery to your brothers. You get one last goodbye Your brother will have to finish the job. But remember. You never really die Your soul lives on to watch over the family that you left behind. They say you died a soldier, but is that really true? Or are you just a young man whose life unraveled. The bullets fly, the bombs explode. We wonder why does the war go on…and on? Why do innocent people have to die? Can anyone tell me why? The years go by, the wars go on. Lives are taken; innocent people continue to die, Theirs families are broken. Is it all worth it in the end? As I walk through a field of poppies I see them sway in a gorgeous way And I remember you! Gone but not forgotten
