The sinking of the titanic
http://www.emaginatorium.com/bbnycdoe/titanic/titanic.html
When the ship struck the iceberg, six of those compartments were damaged and the ship began to take on water very rapidly.
The remains of the Titanic were found about 13 miles southeast of where she was when reporting the damages done. The distance made it harder to find the Titanic, which was finally discovered in 1985.
The ship struck a huge iceberg late on April 14, 1912. It took about 3 hours for the entire ship to sink. The Titanic laid at the site of its grave at about 2:45 AM the next morning on April 15, 1912.
The primary factor that involved the ship's collision with the massive iceberg.. The ship had been built as an unsinkable due to the sixteen compartments that were believed to be watertight.
It took titanic constuctors 3years to build the ship and it only to less than three hours to sink.
