Start here: An overview of qualitative research
Looking Ahead
Welcome to EDUC 828's distance learning unit on qualitative research. Everything you need is presented in this Glog - each "stop" on the path is a link to a video which includes additional resources. Start at the "start line", but first, please follow these directions to navigate tonights exercises. First, ensure that your computer has Quicktime installed. If not, please do so (it is free!) so that you can access the videos which are in .mp4 format (open them with Quicktime if prompted). Second, note that the powerpoint that is the basis for the videos is available in .pdf format in the Sakai class presentations folder. If any resources shared in the videos are hard to see/hear/read, the .pdf version will link you to those resources appropriately. Finally, interactive components of the class are conducted through Sakai, so please remain connected to our course Sakai site.
Please participate in group and individual work as if we were in class. Collaboration is an excellent source for learning and I hold the same expectations online as I do offline. Plus, as this is a new format, interacting with your peers to clarity concepts, tools, and so on will be a great way to mitigate the transition to an online environment. Additionally, I will be online from 8:30-10 in the office hours chatroom as well. Best of luck and be in touch with me and with each other throughout the class. Thank you!
