Lake Michigan (One of North America's 5 great lakes), a system that holds a 5th of the worlds fresh water. Pollution used to be everywhere and even though the government is trying hard too clean up, decades of garbage still remains. Most of these pollutants gathered with the sediments at the bottom of the Great Lakes. When a storm hits, it stirs up the water and moves it to different areas of the lake. This allows fish and other water life to eat up the harmful pollutants. Just testing the water sediments is billions of dollars. However saving the lakes is more then just cleaning the water, it's keeping the ecosystem healthy for the future. This not only Lake Michigan, this includes all the other 4 Great Lakes. The animals are at risk as well. The fish are caught in plastic cartons for cans which we can't blam on Nature people, because plastic is a man made product. We made the mess now I know its time to change our ways.
