The wood door closes, with the deep thud only wood can make; The diminished light is in a sense, ideal for my eyes. The night air is flawless; The sharp, almost metallic smell of burning wood glides to me. I begin to walk, slowly at first. Snapping, crackling and static, Sound of leaves and underbrush hitting parts of my body, Whisper soothingly to me. I shift my weight; And the sounds around me become deeper. Strands of my thin hair, fly on their own invisible currents by section. The long bangs, glide away from me the farthest, Riding the soaring air; they launch into the air, Then return to me in gentle laps. The rest of my wavy hair follows their undulating example. I sense the coolness of the evening overtaking me, As my gliding hair leaves my ears and face bare in their absence. The soft frostiness comforts me; I am returned to my element. There are only two other places that I am more at home; In my soul mate’s arms, and on ice – gliding with the wind encasing me. The cool wind caresses every inch of my body. I am sealed within this moving blanket of wind. The wind, whispers in the trees, and stirs the leaves All of this it does for me. It calms my body; easing out all of the tension. And then increasing my speed, I break into a sprint. Building more speed; I run. The wind whips around me, and the soothing sounds of leaves and underbrush Transform into a chorus of harmony. The woods are encouraging me to run faster. I concentrate, pushing all of my energy into simply building All of the speed I could possibly produce. I soar with the wind now, Sensing its weaving patterns, I can follow its movements. I run with the wind until I can run no farther. My chest is ablaze and tight. Shoulders, now free of all tension; heave. Fighting for a breath, I resist the nothingness. Slowly winning against my body, I begin to breathe, my problems melted away, I am released.

Uh.... Thanks... I wrote it Sunday night in about a half hour after taking the dog for a walk since Sean couldn't come over....
