Saint Ignatius of Loyola
Ignacio Lopez de Loyola was born 23 October 1491 in Aptezia, Spain. He changed his name to Ignatius when he went to France and Italy, seeing it as a variation of his name. He lived during the High Middle Ages. He was a devout Christian and was described by Pope Benedict the XVI as: ''Above all else, a man of God.'' After his move to western Europe, he began alot of Christian work, starting the famous Society of Jesus and venemently opposing the Protestant Reformation, unlike the Catholic Reformation, which he wholly supported.
''Teach us to give and not to count the cost.”
