How do you get it? What are the symptoms of the swine flu? (What is a symptom?) Where did it originate? I originated late in 1975, four Army recruits fell ill with influenza, called "swine flu," that was believed related to the pandemic, but wild birds also can be the source of some types of influenza A. The symptoms are coughing, source throat, and loss of apatite, fever, headache, chills. You can get swine flu from people who already have it and they cough on or near you and that will spread.
How many people already have it? How do we prevent the spread? Only 7 people have died in Mexico and in United States, Canada and Europ have dozens of people infected. and they have just dicovered another person with Swine Flu in Germany To prevent spreading the disease stay out of work or school and stay at home you must cover your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing to prevent spreading the germs and wash your hands frequently, but the germs or the disease cannot stay in the air long.
How do they know that is from pigs? How does it affect animals? What are the signs that animals have it? They don’t know whether it comes from pigs because there is no evidence that the people who have swine flu were around pigs. It is possible that swine flew could affect animals because it may have come from animals so it could spread through them too. Animals like pigs may not show signs because they carry germs all the time and to their body it’s just another germ.
What is a pandemic? What is it? Swine flu A pandemic is a disease spread globally. Swine flu is a highly contagious respiratory disease of swine.
Is there going to be a vaccination for it? Is there a cure? How did it start? Is New Zealand prepared? What is the of risk of getting it in New Zealand? You can treat Swine Flu with Tamiflu and Relenza, there is no vaccination yet but CDCs (Centre for Disease Control) around the world are working to produce a vaccination. I think that New Zealand may not be as prepared as some of the other countries because we don’t have a lot of technowledgy like Australia does and that’s why we had to send our tests over there because we don’t have this type of disease. The risk of getting it in New Zealand is low because border security is aware of what to look for and their isolating who have the supposed symptoms.
