IDENTITY
What is Identity? Identity can be defined in many different ways, but this is identity from my prospective. I think identity and what makes everyone different is their culture, lifestyle and how they live their lives. Each person is diferent in their own way and how they look. Some cultures prefer different ways to show their beauty. It can be shown with body art (Tattoos, make-up, scarification etc), Fashion items (Accessories, clothes, hats, cultural attire) and other traditional methods (Foot binding, hair, neck rings). Some people might find other looks to be unusual, but their methods of beauty may be presentable and nice to the cultures that use these practices of beauty. Identity is the way people show and present themselves and their personality.
The differences and similarities of everyone
THE DIFFERENCES Everyone is different in their own way and each culture is unique. FOODS * In Italy, people prefer spaghetti, pasta and other wheat based foods. Pasta is a food made of wheat which is boiled to make it soft. It is then served with sauce and a type of red or white meat. It can also be served with vegetables. * In Asian countries, most of the population enjoy to eat rice. It is the main food source in most of the meals. Even the KFC food outlets serve rice in their meals whereas in Australia, they don't. CLOTHES * In India, people there wear turbans on their heads. It is used to cover and hold their hair in. * In Australia, sandals are a very popular form of footwear. IDENTITY AND CULTURE * In some places in China, people use foot binding at a very young age. It is when a peice of cloth is wrapped around the foot very tightly. It crushes the bones in the feet. * In a place in Japan, some women tattoo on and around their lips. The men aren't allowed to shave of cut their hair until a certain age.
